Metadata Panel

The actions panel will be opened in the Metadata window; use the icons (indicated in red) to switch between the different windows.

From the Information view of the Metadata window:

Preview

The Metadata panel displays a snapshot preview of the given content item; click on the snapshot to open the content item.

The metadata panel of a presentation will also display a snapshot preview of each of the presentation's slides; click a slide to jump directly to it.

Information

  • See which user created the item, when it was created, when it was last modified, its version, its rating, and the data source
  • Under My Rating, users can add a rating out of five. The top 40 most recommended items will appear in User Recommended Items.

Export

  • Export the selected item from its current folder location, in order to import it later on
  • When an item is exported, it will be downloaded as a .pie file
  • The downloaded document can be sent to other users
  • You can import the exported document from its folder location, into the Content Explorer
    • To import, open the folder where you want to import the item
    • Right click on the background and select Import

Add to Favorites

Click to add the item to your favorites list.

Copy Link

  • Copy the item's URL and then share it with others.
  • The link can then be used to open the content item directly from the browser.
  • The default copy link option allows the user to view the given content item only.
  • Click the drop down to select the 'back to app' option (blue arrow above), which will allow the user to go 'back' to Pyramid. In this case, when the user closes the given content item, it will be opened in the relevant editor; for instance, a presentation will be opened in edit mode in Present.
    • If this option isn't selected, the user will be able to view the given content item only.
    • If the user doesn't permissions to open the item in edit more, they will be directed 'back' to the full Pyramid application.

  • When accessing a data discovery or a presentation from a link, the user can select Analyze Further from the right click context menu in order to further explore the query in the Discover Lite tool.

Embed

Click the Embed icon to get an embed code. The Embed package (license required) enables users to embed dynamic, interactive visualizations and reports from Discover or Present into any website.

Important: Embedding is only available to customers who have purchased the separate 'Embed' license.

Refresh Snapshots

Each content item displays a preview (called a snapshot) in the CMS; this snapshot is also displayed in the metadata panel of each content item. Snapshots are not automatically refreshed when changes are made to the content item.

However, snapshots can be refreshed for presentations and publications in order to reflect the latest changes in the given item. The Refresh Snapshot function is represented by the camera icon, with appears in the Metadata panel for presentations and publications only. Click the icon to regenerate the snapshots; this may take several minutes.
